Ralph J. Everett

Ralph J. Everett, 81, from New Tripoli, died Dec. 22, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born June 19, 1933, in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late Ralph E. and Elizabeth (Jenkin) Everett.

He and his wife Patrice J. (Shafnisky) Everett celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary this past July 28.

A graduate of Catasauqua High School, and Kutztown University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1960, he was a math and history teacher at Whitehall Middle School for 36 years before retiring in 1996.

He previously was the principal for the former Coplay School District.

A member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Slatington, he was a member and past master of F.&A.M. Porter Lodge 284 Catasauqua, and a 32nd degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown.

He was the founder and leader of the former Model Rocket Club at Whitehall Middle School.

A support partner for Lehigh Valley Hospital trauma Neuro area, he enjoyed painting Ukrainian Pysanky eggs.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a A/2C during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Christopher M. and wife, Chasity, of Mertztown, Greg and wife Karen, and Scott, all of Slatington; sister Margaret "Peg," wife of Sterling Gogel of Catasauqua; and two grandchildren.
