If you're looking for some warm comfort food on a cold winter night, the homemade chicken potpie Jan. 10 at Union Lutheran Church might be just the right thing.
Kitchen Chief Terry Hoffman reports the menu will also include pickled cabbage, applesauce, biscuits with honey butter, macaroni and cheese and assorted cakes.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at a discount but will also be available at the door.
Dinner will be served 4:30-7 p.m. Snow date is Jan. 17.

Union Lutheran staff announce an exciting change for the 2015 Vacation Bible School. To allow more children and adults to participate, VBS will be moved to the evening.
The fun and learning runs June 28 toJuly 2.
Each evening will begin with a light dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by VBS activities until 8 p.m.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS is taking orders for apple dumplings, the first fundraising project in the new year.

Pick-up will be Jan. 25 and 26.

If you have gently used holiday decorations you no longer want , Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will accept them now and use them in the Santa's Attic fundraiser at the fall craft show.
Items from year-round holidays are welcome, too.

Director of Christian Education at Union UCC Kathy Bonsell reports the new children's church curriculum, WHIRL, is a big hit with leaders and children.
Sessions consist of a short video, Bible readings and two or three activities.
Children are present for the beginning of the 10:30 a.m. worship service, then depart with their teachers for their own children's church time.
New youngsters are invited to participate in children's church.
