North Whitehall adopts 2015 budget

North Whitehall supervisors announced at their budget meeting there would be no increase in township real estate taxes next year.

Projected revenue for 2015 is $4,294,884, while proposed expenses are $4,245,998.

The only increase will be in the street light assessment, with the current residential assessment of $37 increased to $40.70 and the institutional fee increased from $1,500 to $1,655.50.

Township Manager Jeff Bartlett said there has been no increase in these assessments for several years, even though electric costs have risen.

There will be no increase in the sewer fee.

The emergency services fund will be tapped for $127,000 to be used by Tri Clover Fire Company toward the purchase of a new pumper truck.

In 2016, Neffs and Schnecksville fire companies might be requesting funding toward new equipment.

After some discussion, Supervisor Steve Pany voted to adopt the budget with Supervisor Richard Celmer seconding the motion. The roll call vote was unanimous for adoption of the 2015 budget.
