Klobosits, CHS look for turnaround

Sean Klobosits figures his team soon will turn their season around.

"We just have to find a way to get it going again," said the senior about his team's 1-6 start. "I know we can turn this around. We have played some tough teams and we just have to keep battling and not get down on ourselves.

"We know we can do this and the season isn't over. We all have to work on the things we do best and pull it together."

For Klobosits, it was working with his left hand. Also, the 6-foot-3 swingman needed to work on his inside play, as he has become a fixture down low for the Roughies this winter.

"I knew I had to become better going to my left," noted Klobosits. "I spent the summer doing that and really working with my left hand. I knew I had to get better as this is my senior year."

Being under the boards also is a new experience.

"I am really not used to playing there," he said. "The play is more physical, but I know I can step outside and shoot. Someone will have to come out on me. It also has been different working on my rebounding.

"I had to work on my footwork and boxing out. I knew I had to be more physical. I'm picking up on things as I go."

Head coach Eric Snyder has noticed progression in Klobosits' new role.

"He (Klobosits) worked hard during the summer and had a new challenge," said Snyder. "Lately, he has been doing a better job rebounding for us. If he keeps working, he can have a nice finish to the season and can further help us."

Klobosits began playing basketball in fifth grade and he also began playing soccer when he was younger.

"Most of my friends and family played basketball when I was growing up," said Klobosits. "I really didn't have any trouble playing the game. I played both basketball and soccer and enjoy playing both of them.

"When I am not playing sports, I like to hunt and fish."

Klobosits would like to continue his basketball career in college next fall and would like to stay close to home. He is undecided on his choice, but plans to pursue a career in criminal justice.

In the near future, Klobosits and his teammates took the first step toward a different season when they traveled to Lehighton Tuesday night. They will get back into Colonial League play when they host Wilson Friday.

"It is good to play over the break," said Klobosits. "We're determined to turn this around."
