Police arrested a 23-year-old man for the possession and sale of heroin around 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12.

According to police, a monthlong investigation led officers to Jonathan Lasalle, of Ridge Street, who was suspected of drug activity in and around the Lynnfield neighborhood.

Lasalle was stopped on Daly Avenue and allegedly had 40 bags of heroin on him at the time of arrest. Officers found packaging materials and unspecified items at his home and an estimated $3,000 worth of loose heroin, paraphernalia, and $14,000 cash at his mother's Lynnfield Drive home.

Lasalle is cahrged with possession, possession of paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver heroin and criminal use of a communication device. He was remanded to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
