New Tripoli man dies following 2-vehicle accident in Lynn Twp

An 81-year-old New Tripoli man died following a two-vehicle crash 1 p.m. Dec. 22 at the intersection of Route 143 and Behler Road, Lynn Township, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says.

Ralph Everett, of 8039 Kings Highway, was pronounced dead 2:58 p.m. the same day at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Grim said the cause of death was blunt force neck trauma.

He ruled the manner of his death an accident.

According to State Police Troop M Fogels-ville, Everett entered the intersection traveling south on Behler Road, making a left onto Kings Highway directly in front of another vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Germansville boy.

The teen, approaching from the east on Kings Highway, was unable to stop before his vehicle struck Everett's on the driver's side causing disabling damage to both vehicles, police say.

Everett was transported to the hospital by Northwestern Ambulance Corps.

The teen, who police say was wearing his seat belt, was uninjured.

Acording to police, Everett was not using his seat belt.

Lynnport Fire Company and Yocum Towing assisted at the scene.
