George J. Kittle Jr.

George J. Kittle Jr., 81, from New Tripoli, formerly from Springville, N.Y., died Dec. 18, 2014, in the home of his son, Jeffery, with whom he resided.

He and his wife, Judith A. (Folts) Kittle, were married 55 years last June 27.

Born Sept. 24, 1933, in Colden, Erie County, N.Y., he was the son of the late George J. Sr. and Amelia L. (Miller) Kittle.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.

Employed in the custodial department of Springville-Griffith Institute, Springville, for 11 years before retiring in 2004, he previously worked for the former Robinson Knife Manufacturing Co., Springville, for 45 years.

He was a former member of the East Concord Community Church, East Concord, N.Y., and a life member and former volunteer at the Springville Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon K. Hanchett and her husband, Edward, of Pittsford, N.Y.; son, Jeffery A. and his wife, Susan; siblings June C. Stachowski of East Concord, N.Y., Lorraine D. Downing of Bella Vista, Ariz., Arlene M. Itterley of Ilwaco, Wash., Kenneth M. Kittle and Shirley A. Burkley, both of Springville, Beverly J. Spencer of Elba, N.Y., Orlin R. Kittle of Frank-linville, N.Y.; grandchildren Christopher, Alicia, Laura, Brittany and Catie; and many nieces and nephews.
