Thomas J. Butvich
Thomas J. Butvich, 71, of Allentown, formerly of Putnam Valley, N.Y., died Dec. 13, 2014, surrounded by his loving family in the home of his daughter, Allyson H. Weber of Schnecksville.
He and his wife Marilyn R. (Lorenz) Butvich would have celebrated 45 years of wedded bliss on Dec. 24.
Born May 1, 1943, in Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alphonsus and Helen (Marazas) Butvich.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era achieving the rank of lieutenant.
Earning a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from St. Peter's College, formerly in Brooklyn, and a Master's in Business Administration degree from Long Island University, he was an information systems analyst for Nortel, Tarrytown, N.Y., for many years before retiring.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall.
In addition to his loving wife and daughter, Allyson H. and her husband, Bruce Weber of Schnecksville, he is survived by a son, Eric T. and his wife, Christine, of East Stroudsburg; brother William and his wife, Kathryn, of Floral Park, N.Y.; sister Carol Michels and her husband, Gerald, of Middle Village, N.Y.; and grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, Christopher and Gabriella.
He was predeceased by a grandson Timothy Egan Weber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Dec. 18, at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., (Egypt) Whitehall, with the Rev. Msgr. Daniel J. Yenushocky as celebrant.
Private interment with military honors will take place at the convenience of the family.
