Freedom High School diver, Madison Young, placed third in a tri-meet against Emmaus and Southern Lehigh earlier this month at Liberty High School.
"It was our first meet, so I was excited and nervous," Young said, who scored 156.20 points.
The Patriot junior led off with her front one-and-a-half, followed by her back one-and-a-half, and a reverse.
"My reverse dive was really good. I got good scores, and I lined it up nice," she said.
Young also did an inward one-and-a-half, a front one-and-a-half with one twist, and a front double.
"A lot of them were new dives for me. Last year was my first year, so I was new to it," said Young. "I cleaned up more of my dives, and I'm adding more difficulty."
Young is currently working on her back twister.
Freedom diving coach Jeff Zettlemoyer said, "Madison did well. She just missed one dive. [This year] she has a lot better form, she's more proficient with her twisters, and she's lining her dives up better."
