The GFWC Women's Club of Emmaus recently named Micah Gilley as September Girl of the Month.

Gilley, of Zionsville, was recognized for her achievements in music.

Gilley is a member of Chorale, the advanced choir at Emmaus High School, as well as AccaBella and Select Choir at the school. Gilley was an assistant director for the Pennsylvania Shakespeare's Festival production of "Macbeth." Gilley performed in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District Chorus in 2012 and 2013 and in the Regional Chorus 2012 and 2013.

Gilley plans to study vocal performance and music theater and hopes to be a professional opera singer and Broadway actress.

Gilley is the daughter of Joel and Molly Gilley.
