LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Santa to visit Eastern Salisbury children Dec. 20

It's hard to believe the holiday season is in full swing and before we know it, it will be 2015. The holiday season is a busy one for everyone.

On Dec. 20, Santa will be escorted through the east side of the township by his helpers at the Eastern Salisbury Fire Department. They plan to begin their journey around 9 a.m. so keep your ears and eyes open.

Harry S Truman Elementary is collecting items to place under the Spirit of Giving trees. These trees are located in the lobby and are being surrounded by donations of non-perishable food to be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Goods will be collected until Dec. 19.

On Dec. 17, there will be a school board meeting in the district administration building 7:30 p.m.

On Dec. 23, the elementary schools will dismiss 1 p.m. to begin the winter break. There will be no school Dec. 24 through Jan. 2, 2015. School will resume Jan. 5, 2015.

The Franko Yard Waste site is now closed until spring.

I hope you all have a happy holiday season filled with love, laughter and many new memories.

Remember the reason for the season…and it is better to give than receive.
