Ted C. Van Norman

Ted C. Van Norman, 82, of Slatington, died on Dec. 6, 2014, in Phoebe Home, Allentown.

He and his wife Lorraine A. (Blose) Van Norman were married 57 years.

Born Jan. 1, 1932, in Palmerton, Carbon County, he was the son of the late Granville and Marion (Benner) Van Norman.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era, achieving the rank of sergeant.

He was a painter, paperhanger and interior design coordinator with Curtis E. Schneck Inc., Schnecksville.

Prior to that, he worked for the former George Dorward Painting, Slatington.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, both in Slatington, and a life member of the North American Fishing Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Joette M. Reitz and her husband, Jeffrey, of Slatington; and grandchildren Russell J. Hallman of Slatington, Rebecca H. Hallman of Pittsburgh.
