Swimmers start season with sweep of Eastburg North

The Whitehall swimming team got off to a great start with a sweep of East Stroudsburg North.

The girls won convincingly, 132-37 as they won every event. The boys score was a little closer with the Zephs coming out on top 95-73.

In the girls race, Mina Feyrer set a new pool record in the 500 free, timing in at 5:26.39.

Grace Sullivan won the 200 free in 2:09.02. Alexandra Dorner took the 200 IM in 2:37.69 and Alexis Merkert won the 50 free in 26.59.

Autumn Kidulic took the 100 butterfly event in 1:13.45, Michaela Hendrick caputred the 100 free in 1:03.58 while Jessica Marselles won the 100 back in 1:13.99 and Steph Seta was first in the 100 breast in 1:20.97. In all, Whitehall crowed eight different individual winners in the girls meet.

The 200 medley relay team of Dorner, Marselles, Katherine Lutterschmidt and Merkert won in 2:04.71; the 200 free time of Setar, Shadimon Navarro, Merkert and Sullivan won in 1:51.42 and the 400 free team of Madison Lyle, Kidulic, Nyla Boulware and Sullivan won in 4:16.99.

In the boys meet, Michael Haggerty and Felix Figueroa each won two individual events to pace the Zephs.

Haggerty took first in the 200 free (2:02.86) and the 500 free (5:31.21) while Figueroa won the 200 IM (2:24.86) and the 100 free (1:00.55).

Anthony Fragnito won the 50 free in 26.22, Jack Yadush took the 100 back in 1:05.99 and Jordan Rivera won the 100 breast in 1:15.80.

The Whitehall 200 medley relay team of Yadush, Rivera, Figueroa and Fragnito had a winning time of 1:55.41 while the 400 free team of Haggerty, Fragnito, Figueroa and Yadush won in 3:55.23.
