Robert S. Gessner, 84, of Allentown, died Dec. 8, 2014, in his home.
He and his wife Carolyn K. (Horn) Gessner were married 58 years.
Born April 26, 1930, in Reading, he was the son of the late Harold D. and Ruth E. (Starke) Gessner.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-58, achieving the rank of staff sergeant.
A Parkland High School Spanish teacher for 27 years, he retired in 1989.
He previously taught in the Fleetwood School District for four years.
Involvement at Grace Gospel Chapel, Allentown, was a priority in his life.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughters, Faith A. Dunlap and her husband, David, of Land O'Lakes, Fla., Hope E. Gessner at home; and grandchildren Laura, Allan and Sarah Dunlap.
He was predeceased by a brother, David J.
His memorial service will be 10 a.m. Dec. 20, at Grace Gospel Chapel, 1642 Ehrets Lane, Allentown.
There will be no calling hours. Private interment will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
