The Borough of Macungie held the annual holiday lighting ceremony Dec. 2 at Macungie Flower Park.

Mayor Gary Cordner led the ceremony and thanked those who contributed to the event.

Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather, both the Eyer Middle School Band and the Macungie Minstrelaires were unable to attend. However, the Brass Ensemble of the Church of the Good Shepherd turned out and entertained those in attendance with the holiday favorites, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "O Come All Ye Faithful."

The crowd then joined the band to sing "Away in a Manger" and "Silent Night" before John and Jane Leeser flipped the switch to light the town tree.

Refreshments were donated by a number of organizations and Senior Girl Scout Troop #413 helped serve the attendees.
