Letters to The Editor
To the Editor:
We would like to express our most sincere gratitude to all who participated in or volunteered for the Streak Challenge Nov. 11 at Parkland High School.
God bless you for helping us during this difficult time as we battle pancreatic and breast cancer.
We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity from family and friends and humbled by the outpouring of support from the community for this event.
We are still amazed at what happened the night of the streak out.
Special thanks to…
·Our dear family and friends;
·Oliver's Salon and Metro Beauty Academy and the entire team of hair streakers;
·Kona Ice and Matt and Andrea Russell;
·Mike Marsteller and the HCM Foundation;
·Former 76ers basketball great Darryl Dawkins;
·Josh Early Candies;
·All the raffle and gift certificate donors, including Oliver's Salon, the Corba Family and the Pink and Purple Lacrosse Heads, Gary Stephens' Mr. Barbeque's BBQ, and Tara Kilmer's hair care baskets;
·Andrea Seese and all the cupcake donors and bakers;
·Parkland High School, Springhouse Middle School, and Parkway Manor Elementary and all the athletic teams and their coaches and players who volunteered;
·Bracelets and special help from Parkland senior Joseph Khalife and the PHS Lacrosse Team and Dr. Tricia Kelly;
·Parkland senior Chad Brown and his band;
·Chemo nurses from Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest who came out to get streaked;
·St. Joseph the Worker, Sanofi Pasteur and DeSales University families;
·All the volunteers and Streakers. We saw pink and purple everywhere;
·And especially to the amazing team of six who made this all possible – our incredible friends – Dr. Kim Corba, Kaye Coval, Luanne Oliver, Krista Gerbasio, Annette Varrato and Melissa Leonzi…and their families.
There is no way to express how thankful we really are.
We have asked that the Streak team also make a donation to benefit special needs of the Lehigh Valley Health Network Pediatric Hospice patients in honor of our "No one fights alone" team.
Thank you to Susan Christine for all the work you are doing for cancer patients and their families.
We will never forget the kindness and generosity from our community!
No one does fight alone. We live in an amazing community. We love Parkland.
This past year we have been showered with acts of kindness and so many anonymous good deeds.
There are angels everywhere.
We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and we thank God for placing us in the middle of this community.
Wishing all of you the most memorable Thanksgiving knowing how much you changed our lives forever!
With enormous love and gratitude,
The Jenkins Family
