GAPs: Dec.18 produce safety training

A Keeping Fresh Produce Safe Using Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) training will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 18, 2014 in the Northampton Human Services Building, 2801 Emrick Blvd., Bethlehem, PA 18020.

The Penn State Extension workshop for fresh produce and fruit growers is a five hour certificate program. Topics coveredinclude an introduction to produce food safety, irrigation and wash water, risks from animals and manure, harvester and handler health and hygiene, harvest and post-harvest safety, and traceability and recall programs.
