The Kreidersville Covered Bridge Association will hold its annual tree-lighting ceremony on the grounds surrounding the Kreidersville Covered Bridge on Saturday, Dec. 13, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

In case of bad weather, it will be rescheduled for Dec. 14, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The tree-lighting ceremony will include free cookies and hot chocolate, a bonfire, caroling and a special visit from Santa, who will arrive aboard an Allen Township fire truck.

Students from Good Shepherd Elementary School will sing carols.

St. John's United Church of Christ, Howertown, 22 Atlas Road, will hold a community Christmas cantata this Sunday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m.

Participating will be pastors, youth and choirs from St. John's UCC, Howertown; St. Peter's UCC, Seemsville; Christ UCC, Little Moore; and Zion Stone UCC.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Kreidersville, will hold a cookie sale and Christmas boutique Saturday, Dec. 13, 9 a.m.-noon.

The homemade cookies will be sold by the pound.

The Governor Wolf Historical Society will hold its 34th annual Christmas house tour of historic homes and landmarks on Saturday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The three buildings on the society's campus, 6600 Jacksonville Road, East Allen Township, will again be open for the tour, with a total of 15 crafters in all three buildings, a fresh wreath and swag sale, hearth cooking demonstration and tastings, and more.

This year, the Governor Wolf Historical Society is offering bus transportation to all the homes on the tour. There is an additional cost.
