LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone as well as what remains of "Black Friday." And that can only mean it is officially the holiday season. That brings about plenty of hustle and bustle not only at home and the stores, but also in our schools and township in general.

The Harry S Truman PTO Holiday Shop continues through Dec. 5. Information has been sent home with students, including a shopping list so no one is forgotten. Shop organizers also are recommending pre-made labels for the gifts be sent with student shoppers to help save time for the wrappers. There are evening hours 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4.

There is a school board reorganization meeting 7 p.m. Dec. 3 in the administration building, South Pike Avenue. A school board operations meeting will immediately follow the reorganization meeting.

There will be a school curriculum meeting 7 p.m. Dec. 8 in the administration building.

The next meeting of the Harry S Truman PTO will be 7 p.m. Dec. 8.

HST will hold a winter concert, including the fourth and fifth grades, as well as the chorus, 2 p.m. Dec. 9. Should it be needed, the snow date is 2 p.m. Dec. 16.

The school board will hold its next meeting 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 in the administration building.

The Franko Farm yard waste collection site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 9 and 13. The site will then be closed until spring 2015.

I can't believe this time of the year is here already. Mark your calendars, Santa will be going through the east side of the township Dec. 20 with the help of some of the members of the Eastern Salisbury Fire Department. Santa should be departing around 9 a.m. Be on the lookout for him as he rides a firetruck. Be sure to listen for the sirens.
