SUV hits

embankment

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Jana R. Romejko, 33, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17 along Independent Road, a half-mile west of Kecks Road, Weisenberg Township, when she apparently failed to negotiate a curve on the wet roadway.

According to police, the SUV struck an embankment and sustained disabling front end damage.

Romejko, who was wearing her seat belt, was uninjured.

She was cited in the office of District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington, with driving at an unsafe speed.

Police allege Muhanad Awadallah, 26, of New Tripoli, struck a 22-year-old woman several times in the face, and on the shoulder and head with a closed fist following a verbal altercation 11 a.m. Oct. 28 in the 7000 block of Flint Hill Road, Lynn Township.

Police say the woman lost consciousness following the attack and Awadallah allegedly fled the scene.

Charges were filed with District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington, and an arrest warrant for Awadallahwas obtained.

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Susan M. Dixon, 48, of Shenandoah, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Corvette 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 18 when it struck a traffic sign laying on Route 309, south of Route 143, Lynn Township.

Dixon, who was wearing her seat belt sustained a minor injury to her head from the sign crashing through the convertible top of her car.

Cetronia Ambulance Corps assisted at the scene, police say.
