Sadie M. Torbey, 84, of North Whitehall Township, died Nov. 23, 2014, in her home.
She was married to the late John "Junior" Torbey.
A tribal member of the Cherokee Nation, she was born Jan. 12, 1930, in Stilwell, Okla., the daughter of the late Webster and Frances (Walkingstick) Crittenden.
A licensed practical nurse, she was employed in the former medical office of Drs. Levitt, Wasserman and Lusser, Allentown.
A member of Egypt VFW 7293, she was a corporal in the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War.
She was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, North-ampton, and of the former St. Michael's Church, Northampton, where she was president of its Altar and Rosary Society.
Her survivors include daughters Carolyn Torbey, Jane Torbey-Roth and companion Richard Horvath, Cynthia, wife of David Connor, all of North Whitehall Township; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Nathan Crittenden, and a sister, Malinda Hummingbird.
Her viewing will be 8:30-10 a.m. Nov. 28, at Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton.
Interment at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton.
