Congratulations to the 46 new members of the Salisbury High School chapter of National Honor Society inducted in a ceremony 7 p.m. Nov. 20.

According to NHS, members are selected based on the criteria of outstanding academic achievement as well as service, leadership, character and citizenship.

Salisbury schools are closed Nov. 27 through Dec. 1 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Student Government Advisory's annual Holiday Toy Drive will take place Dec. 2 through 12. This year's drive will benefit the pediatric/childrens' units at Lehigh Valley Health Network. The drive is also functioning as the December competition for the Falcon Cup. For every five items donated on LVHN's Toy Drive Wish List, one point will be awarded for the class or faculty team who donated it. Toy categories have been chosen by the class advisors, class presidents and Principal Heather Morningstar.

Sophomores are to donate items off the "general" list, seniors are to donate items off of the "infant/toddler" list, juniors the "preschool" list, faculty the "games" list, and freshmen the "school age" list.

Salisbury High School's winter choral and instrumental concert is 7 p.m. Dec. 4. Come out and support SHS's chorus and band members.

SHS is holding make-up Keystone exams Dec. 3, 4, 8, 9, 11 and 12. On Dec. 3, 4, 8 and 9, students testing will report to SHS at 7:35 a.m. Transportation is provided. All other students will have a two-hour delay and should report to school 9:35 a.m.

Students who are not testing should report to their bus stop two hours later than their original time. On Dec. 11 and 12, there is no delay and all students should report at the regularly scheduled time of 7:35 a.m. Mid-marking for the second quarter is Dec. 5.

The deadline for baby photos for this year's yearbook publication is Jan. 30, 2015, and senior photos portraits must be sent in to the yearbook by Jan. 31, 2015. Please forward any questions or concerns you have to SHSpress@salisburysd.org.
