Spartan Sprint to Benefit Needy Students
NCC will hold the Spartan Sprint 5K challenge with registration at 8 a.m. and the race at 9 a.m.on Nov. 15 at the Main Campus. Participants may walk or run the fast, flat 5K course on paved surfaces.Free t-shirts will be given to the first 100 participants.
Proceeds will be used to establish a rainy-day fund for NCC students in crisis. Call 610-861-4145 fo rinformation.
Open house set for Nov. 22
NCC will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 22 beginning in the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center, Main Campus.
Participants will learn about the college's more than 100 academic programs, tour the campus and meet faculty members and current students. Questions will be answered by the professionals in admissions, financial aid and career services.

Winter Sports Kick-off set for Nov. 7
Warren Miller's "No Turning Back" will kick off the 65th winter sports season The film celebrates a legacy that dates back to before skis had edges, from the top of Greece's Mount Olympus, to Japan and the Swiss Alps.
Buckman's Ski and Snowboard Shop and Elk Mountain have teamed up with the NCC Ski Club to sponsor three showings in Lipkin Theatre, Main Campus. There are 7 p.m. performances on Nov. 7 and 8 and a 3:30 p.m. performance, also Nov. 8.
Door prizes will be provided by local co-sponsors including Elk Mountain, Buckman's, Sugarbush Resort (VT), Bear Creek Mountain Resort and others. Tickets are available at Buckman's (Whitehall), NCC's Student Activities Office, Main Campus or visit www.nccWarrenMiller.com.

Simon next L.U. president
John D. Simon, executive vice president and provost at the University of Virginia, has been appointed as Lehigh's 14th president. He will assume the presidency on July 1, 2015.
He is an internationally renowned chemist and widely respected leader in higher education. He will replace former president Alice P. Gast, who has accepted the presidency of Imperial College London.

Moravian College
Tworkowsi to speak on depression
Jamie Tworkowski, founder of the non-profit organization "To Write Love on Her Arms", will speak on depression and suicide prevention at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in Foy Concert Hall, Priscilla Payne Hurd Campus. The free talk is open to the public.
The TWLOHA movement is dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.
Tworkowski has been interviewed by NBC Nightly News, CNN, MTV, and Spin Magazine.
