The Emmaus Borough Council made bid decisions on kerosene, unleaded fuel and diesel fuel at the Nov. 17 meeting.
"Good news this year. The bid prices all went down by about 50 cents per gallon, so that's good to hear," Borough Manager Shane Pepe said.
Council voted to award the bids to the following companies: Harned Durham for kerosene at $3.18 per gallon, Lehigh Fuels for unleaded fuel at $2.36 per gallon and Harned Durham for diesel at $2.76 per gallon.
In other business, some changes have to be made to the pension plan document.
"What we need to do, according to the state law, is to redefine the term spouse within our pension plans," Councilman Brian Holtzhafer said. "Spouse now means anyone that is recognized by a marriage license in any state and our pension plans don't meet that requirement right now."
Council approved the motion to allow a new ordinance to be drafted for the Dec. 1 council meeting.
Council unanimously voted to allow Lehigh County Authority to own and operate the sewer and water lines in the Fields at Indian Creek development, with the borough charging for sewer taping fees.
Council approved resolution 2014-48 which will allow a lot line adjustment on the 190 Main St. subdivision
Also at the meeting, council voted to allow the Emmaus Arts Commission to use the community room for the Old Fashioned Christmas event being held Dec. 6.
Council accepted the resignation of EMT William Stahler as well as Steve Baier who was a member on the Emmaus and Upper Milford Joint Environmental Advisory Council.
