EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN
It is hard to believe we have already had our first snowfall of the year. Although I'm sure most parents are thankful the snow days haven't begun yet!
However, it is the middle of November and that means the first marking period report cards will come home Nov. 19 from Harry S Truman Elementary School. Kindergarten conferences will be held Nov. 20 at HST and Western Salisbury Elementary schools. Following the distribution of report cards come parent teacher conferences and early dismissals for the kids.
Conferences will be held Nov. 21 through 26. Students at HST will be dismissed 1 p.m. daily for conferences. Please take this time to meet with the teachers and discuss your child's progress and to address any concerns you may have.
There will be no school Nov. 27 through Dec. 1 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The HST PTO will again host the holiday shop Dec. 2 through 5. Evening shopping hours will be offered 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4. The children really enjoy getting to pick gifts for friends and family at this event. More information will be sent home soon.
The Salisbury High School girls basketball team will hold a fundraiser at Wisecrackers Comedy Club in the Ramada Inn, Whitehall, 9 to 11 p.m. Nov. 22. The doors open 8 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Peggy at 610-432-0101 or visit jcpentertainment. com. A little laugh, goes a long way....let's support these young women.
There will be a reorganization meeting 7 p.m. Dec. 3 in the administration building. An operations committee meeting will immediately follow.
The Franko Farm yard waste collection site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22 and 25. There is only one more weekend the site will be open for the year.
The township leaf collection event continues, however, time is also limited....so get those leaves out to the curb.
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and can spend time with those you are most thankful for.
