Rudolph F. "Rudy" Nickisher 92, a longtime resident of Fullerton, Whitehall Township, died peacefully Nov. 1, 2014, in Phoebe Home, Allentown, where he was a guest since 2010.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Kopfer) Nickisher.
He was a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Whitehall.
A 1941 graduate of Allentown High School, he proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific aboard the USS Tunny submarine.
He continued his patriotism as a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367 and the U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II Association.
A carpentry inspector at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for more than 30 years, he retired in 1982.
His survivors include a nephew Frank L. Nickisher of East Brunswick, N.J., and his family.
He was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
