Alfred Jaindl

Alfred Jaindl, 95, of Allentown, died Nov. 5, 2014, in the Lutheran Home at Topton.

He was the husband of the late Earlene L. (Strauss) Jaindl.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Andrew and Anne (Plessl) Jaindl.

Before retiring in the early 1980s, he worked as a switchman at Bell Telephone more than 30 years.

He was a member of St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of The Military Order of the Purple Heart, the 4th Infantry (Ivy) Division Association and the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.

An avid bowler in various local leagues, he also enjoyed gardening.

His survivors include a son, Keith A. and his wife, Karen S., of Allentown; daughters Diane R. Borman of Allentown, Karen L., wife of David Lozenski, of Boyertown; brothers Robert of Mertztown, Edward of Allentown; sisters Anna Young of Allentown, Eleanor Coventry of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

He was predeceased by brothers Walter, Herman and Irvin, and sisters Margaret, Helen, Theresa and Rose.
