Western Salisbury Elementary PTA is holding a book fair at Barnes and Noble in the Promenade Shoppes 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 13. Some of the events include teacher read-alouds and a reveal of who won the Name the Drink contest. Be sure you sign in with the PTA because the class with the most students in attendance will win a Blondie Blast party. If you can't attend the book fair in person, you can shop on-line using the school book fair ID number. Books make great gifts for all ages and Christmas is right around the corner.
Nov. 17 is the first day of practice for winter athletic teams. Make sure all the paperwork is filled out and turned in to the school office so nobody misses a day of practice.
Nov. 19 is picture retake day at WSE as well as the day report cards for the first marking period come home. I'm sure with all the wonderful students in Salisbury they are both occasions to smile about.
Report card time means parent-teacher conference time, which also means early dismissal time. Can I get a smile for that? SHS will have an early dismissal 12:15 p.m. Nov. 21.
Salisbury Middle School will also dismiss 12:15 p.m. Nov. 21, 24, 25 and 26.
The elementary schools will let out 1 p.m. Nov. 21, 24, 25 and 26.

A meeting of the Salisbury Township School District Board of Directors will be held 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the administration building.
The Devonshire yard waste drop off will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 15 and 18. Township leaf collection continues. If they haven't been to your area, get your leaves to the curb soon because chances are the men in the yellow trucks will be on your block any day now.
