Joseph A. Manfredo, industrial engineer

Joseph A. Manfredo, 89, of Bethlehem, died Oct. 22, 2014, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Ernest and Ida (Stuver) Manfredo. He was the husband of Margaret (Ripper) Manfredo for 68 years.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was an industrial engineer for Bethlehem Steel Corp. until retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

He was a past exalted ruler of the Bethlehem Elks Lodge #191. He was an active member of the Race Goers Association, the MORA Club and Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joel and his wife Suzanne of Laguna Niguel, Calif. and their children, Nicole and Kyle; and lan and his wife Christie of Anchorage, Alaska, and Alan's daughters, Taryn and Alison of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Constance Manfredo and her daughter Kristine and her husband Michael Ramos, all of Quakertown; and her son, Michael and his wife Kelly Manfredo of Bethlehem; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Francis Manfredo.
