The Housing Opportunity Movement Inc., a city nonprofit affordable housing developer, announced Oct. 29 it's constructing four homes in the 900 block of East Eighth Street.
According to the release, the twin units are offered at $154,900. Low and moderate income households may qualify for a forgivable, no payment second mortgage of $37,500. Qualifying households would then have a cost of entry of $117,400. Additional assistance may be available through local community lenders, governmental bodies and public agencies.
The homes are expected to be completed before January.
Prospective homebuyers must meet income eligibility requirements as defined by HUD and are encouraged to seek homeownership counseling.
