Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon at St. Timothy's Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. The program will be a Red Cross senior emergency preparedness workshop. The AARP Lower Macungie Chapter # 4150 meeting noon in the community room of the Lower Macungie library building, 3450 Brookside Road, and features entertainment by Gordon Memories. The menu includes hoagies with coffee or tea for a charge. Meetings are normally held on the first Thursday of each month. "Honoring Our Veterans" 2 to 3 p.m. at Lower Macungie Township Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road. The Macungie Historical Society and VFW Post 9264 will honor veterans in Macungie and Lower Macungie. Refreshments will follow.
The Young Musicians of the Allentown Music Club recital 2 p.m. at the ArtsQuest Center in Steel- Stacks, Bethlehem. The performers will celebrate American composers and will play pieces exclusively by them. New members are welcome. The event is open to kids six through 18 who are currently studying with a private teacher and wish to showcase their talents on a musical instrument and/or voice. Project Lifesaver/ TRIAD meeting 3 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown. This month's speaker in honor of Veteran's Day will be Sgt. Clyde Hoch, USMC. Hoch is an award winning author and a mentor with the Veterans' Mentor Program, sponsored by Lehigh County District Attorney James Martin. Hoch has recently helped to open a home in Pennsburg for his fellow veterans. To show support for all of our veterans, bring something to be used for Thanksgiving dinner; the turkeys are already donated. There will also be an update on Project Lifesaver.
