Cell phone stolen

Upper Macungie Township police say a 38-year-old Emmaus woman told them Nicholas Reitz, 21, of Allentown, allegedly stole her cell phone Oct. 1 from her bag in the back room of Applebee's Restaurant, 7150 Hamilton Blvd.

Police say Reitz returned the phone two to three hours later and allegedly admitted he took it. Charges of theft and receiving stolen property have been filed.

Police were dispatched 6:56 p.m. Oct. 8 to Redner's Market, 7150 Hamilton Blvd. for a retail theft with two females juveniles in custody.

Loss prevention personnel allegedly saw a 14-year-old and 16-year-old, both from Trexlertown, removing an item from a box and leaving the store without paying for it.

The girls allegedly turned over the item and two other items secreted in one of their purses, police say. All the items were cosmetics.

The teens were released to the custody of their mothers.

Charges for retail theft are pending.
