Edward Wagner

Edward Wagner, 94, of Cetronia, died Oct. 16, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

He and his wife Christine "Tina" (Bortz) Wagner celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last December.

Born Sept. 27, 1920, in Riegelsville, he was the son of the late Adolph and Gertrude (Hoettges) Wagner.

He graduated from Allentown High School in 1939 and served honorably in the U.S. Navy for six years, four and a half of those years during World War II , attaining the rank of chief radioman.

He was a ham radio operator for 77 years operating under the call letters W3HER.

An avid golfer, he shot his age well over 100 times and had five holes in one.

He was a former member of Brookside Country Club and spent winters in Florida for the past 24 years.

His perennial garden was his pride and joy.

The founder and president of Wagner Appliance Parts Inc., he retired in 1986.

He was a member of Cedar Lutheran Church, Cetronia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Pamela and her husband, Lee M. Oldt Jr., of Zionsville, Jeffrey and his wife, Charleen, of Heber City, Utah, Sally and her husband, Dr. Brad Fabbri, of Chesterfield, Mo.; grandchildren Chad Oldt, Justin Oldt and wife, Ellisa, Ashley and husband Dr. Thomas Kouo, Kristina and husband Michael Stilb, Marissa and Natalie Fabbri; and great-grandchildren Logan Oldt, Brandon and Quinn Kouo and Florence Stilb.

He was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Schmidt.
