My name is Sharon Dougherty and I am the Director of the Coplay Public Library. I'll be writing a column periodically for the Whitehall-Coplay Press to keep readers informed about what we've got going on.
Since I started this job in January, the staff and I have been diligently working on new ideas and changes. We will be taking turns informing you of our library happenings in the Whitehall-Coplay Press. We would like to thank all of you for your help, donations and good wishes! Your support and encouragement have meant the world to us and inspire us to make your library a place you can be proud of.
Come in and see our Halloween decorations and our special "Final Chapter Graveyard." While you're here, fill out an entry blank for our candy corn contest. Guess the number of candy corn pieces in the container and win a Barnes & Noble gift card.
Drop by the library and participate in our game nights. Scrabble Night is Monday, Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Then join us for a game of Trivial Pursuit Saturday, Nov. 1, from noon to 3 p.m.
We now have two Story Time offerings for young ones of all ages. For November they will be Tuesday, Nov. 4, and Saturday, Nov. 15; both are at 11 a.m. No advance registration is required. Call the library for details at 610-262-7351.
We will be hosting a spaghetti dinner Saturday, Nov. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Church in Coplay. Tickets are currently on sale at the library. We will also have a Chinese auction at the dinner with many baskets in need of a home. Stop into the library today for your dinner tickets.
Keep up with these and our other activities by following us on Facebook and Twitter or visit our website at www.coplaypubliclibrary.org.
