Crime Watch group to meet Oct. 27
The Whitehall Township Crime Watch will meet 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the township municipal building, 3219 MacArthur Road.
The speaker will be retired state Tpr. Kurt Tempinski, a forensic firearm and tool marker examiner. The special detective for Lehigh County works at the Firearm and Tool Mark Examination Laboratory in South Whitehall.
Firearm safety information and gun locks for those who need them will also be provided during the meeting.

High school
evacuated
Whitehall High School officials took precautionary measures Oct. 14 when a note was found in the men's bathroom stating a bomb was in the building.
The incident took place at approximately 1:15 p.m., police said. Students and faculty were evacuated and subsequently dismissed early, police said.
Police and Whitehall firefighters searched the school but did not find anything suspicious, police said.
Police are investigating.

· A report of fraud brought officers to the 4300 block of Black Drive.
· Officers conducted a drug investigation at Burger King, 1600 MacArthur Road.
· A request for a protection-from-abuse order brought police to the 3700 block of Lehigh Street.
· Police responded to a reckless driver on MacArthur Road.
OCTOBER 8
· Officers were called to the 1200 block of Washington Street to investigate a theft from a vehicle.
· An alarm summoned police to the 3000 block of North Third Avenue.
· Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Ringer Road.
· A report of disorderly conduct brought officers to Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road.
· Officers responded to a report of a domestic call on Maryland Circle.
· A report of a motor vehicle crash brought police to MacArthur Road.
OCTOBER 9
· An alarm summoned officers to the 2200 block of Rising Hill Road.
· A report of a fire brought police to the 1000 block of North 10th Street.
· Officers were called to Best Buy, 1504 MacArthur Road, to investigate a report of found rusted cans of whipped cream.
OCTOBER 10
· A report of harassment brought police to the 2100 block of Main Street.
· Police responded to a burglary in the 1300 block of Basswood Lane.
· An issue involving a protection-from-abuse order brought officers to the 3700 block of Lehigh Street.
· Officers responded to a report of credit card fraud at Game Stop, Lehigh Valley Mall.
OCTOBER 11
· Officers assisted EMS in the 3600 block of Park Street.
· A report of a disturbance brought officers to Presidential Drive.
· Police responded to a report of public drunkenness at Wawa, 2955 Mechanicsville Road.
· A report of loud music brought officers to the 1100 block of Mickley Road.
OCTOBER 12
· Police were called to the 3000 block of North Front Street to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash.
· A report of a suspicious activity brought officers to the 3000 block of South Third Street.
