BASD: Education Week
Education Week is being celebrated from Oct. 14 through 17 in the district. A Special Person Day will be held on Oct. 16.
Fountain Hill ES's new program
F.H.E.S.'s kindergarten and first graders are using a new program, Kid Writing. We are seeking caring adults to pair with our students as they work to improve spelling, grammar and overall writing skills. Hours vary.

Drill set for Oct. 22
There will be a Parent Reunification Drill from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 22 on the campuses of Freedom HS and East Hills MS. Students need to be available from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The role-play of an emergency situation will cover procedures for reuniting students with their parents after an emergency situations or relocations. Students earn BHA scholarships
The Bethlehem Housing Authority future college funding scholarship program recently honored Man Nguyen, Nitschmann MS, and Crystal Ortiz, East Hills M.S.
Honor student Nguyen has perfect attendance and his favorite subject is physics. Ortiz is the fifth member of the Ortiz family to win a BHA scholarship.
The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Organization, Housing America campaign, has named local resident Emely Gilot as the first place winner, High School category, for Pennsylvania.
Her submission of "What Home Means to Me", including an essay, will be entered in the national poster contest.
The yearly event is for participation by children residing in affordable housing and community developments owned or administered by NAHRO member agencies.
