Shane Burcaw, of Bethlehem, will sign his memoir "Laughing at My Nightmare" at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at Barnes and Noble at the Promenade Shops.

The book covers the challenges that the twenty-one-year-old with spinal muscular atrophy faces. The book will be published by Roaring Brook Press, an imprint of Macmillan, on Oct. 14.

The author is the president of the nonprofit organization Laughing At My Nightmare Inc., which assists families affected by muscular dystrophy.
