Ernest D. Snyder, 84, of New Tripoli, died Oct. 10, 2014, in Cornerstone Living Center, Weisenberg Township.

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn E. (Koenig) Snyder in 2013.

Born in New Tripoli, he was a son of the late Clarence D. and Laura (Heilman) Snyder.

A life-long, self-employed farmer, he later was a carpenter before retiring in 1985.

During this time, he also was a school bus driver for the Northwestern Lehigh School District

A member of Ebenezer UCC, New Tripoli, he was a former member of the consistory and a cemetery board member.

He was a 1948 graduate of Slatington High School.

His survivors include a daughter, Gail K., wife of Ross Post, of New Tripoli; son Gregory L. Snyder and his life partner, James Kendall, of Lancaster; brother, Carl G. Snyder and his wife, Arlene, of Breinigsville, and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.
