Paul D. Stahl, 89, formerly of Macungie, died Oct. 10, 2014 in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Jeannine F. (Hamsher) Stahl. Born in Wescosville, he was the son of the late John and Esther A. (Brinker) Stahl.

He worked for the East Penn School District as a custodian for 20 years, retiring in 1991. Previously he worked for East Penn Foundry.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

He honorably served his country as a staff sgt. in Company F, 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, during World War II, earning a Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife; son, Scott D. and his wife Dorothy, of Macungie; daughters, Kathleen D. and her husband James Osborn, of Jim Thorpe and Lora J. and her husband Scott Schmoyer, of Whitehall; sisters, Lillie Balliet, of Allentown, Dorothy Millhouse, of Allentown, Mary Ann Higgins, of Orefield and Jean Knaake, of Allentown; grandchildren, Daniel, Alissa, Abbe, Casey, Morgan and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Gracie, Bruce and Cameron. He was predeceased by brothers, David, Charles and John and sister, Ruth Spangenberg.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 15 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
