FALCON INSIDER Phantoms tickets through Key Club benefits charity

The Salisbury High School Key Club is taking on the Invisible Pain Project. The Key Club has reserved tickets for the Nov. 15 ("NERVEmber") Phantom's hockey game against Toronto 7:05 p.m. A group of SHS students will sing the national anthem prior to the game. The club plans to "Put Pain in the Penalty Box." Twenty percent of all ticket sales will go directly to the Invisible Pain Project. The club goal is to raise $1,000, so they must sell 250 tickets. Tickets can be reserved by emailing krossetti@stsd.org.

All Salisbury High School students who are eligible for National Honor Society need to complete NHS requirements by submitting a one to two page essay to Paul Koba by Oct. 17. Details were included in the email sent to those students.

The Salisbury High School's annual Powder Puff game is scheduled 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 15 in the SHS stadium. Tickets are available at the gate. Because this is not a PIAA sanctioned event, game passes of any kind will not be accepted. If you do not have a ticket, you will not be permitted to enter the game.

German exchange students will be staying with select high school students Oct. 16 through Nov. 1 through the German American Partnership Program. They will attend SHS with students while they are in the area.

Members of the German Club and their families are holding a basket raffle to raise money to support the SHS students going to Germany in June 2015. Tickets will be sold at the Homecoming football game Oct. 17. Winners will be announced at halftime at the game. You do not have to be present to win.

SHS is getting ready for Homecoming this weekend and the students are participating in Spirit Week. The theme for Oct. 15 is Nerd Day. Oct. 16, is Throwback Thursday and Oct. 17 is Blue and White Day.

The Homecoming varsity football game will be 7 p.m. Oct. 17 versus Catasauqua High School. Tailgating will be 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. in the SHS student parking lot prior to the game.

The Homecoming dance will be held 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 18 in the old high school gym. Dance tickets are available in advance or at the door.

Salisbury Winter Athletic Physicals are Oct. 25 at Salisbury Middle School. Boys should report 8 a.m. and girls report 9 a.m. There is a cost. Winter physical paperwork and recertification paperwork for fall athletes and team managers are available in the high school office. In order to play a winter sport, students must have a physical dated on or after May 31.

The SHS Literary Club will hold their annual family Halloween party, Books With Bite, 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 in the SHS Library. Come out and enjoy a night with the family to hear a scary story and make a creepy craft. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.

The Class of 2016 is once again holding their fruit sale. All orders must be in by Oct. 30 for delivery before Thanksgiving. Order forms will be available in the high school office or orders can be placed by contacting krossetti@stsd.org or debragalbraith@aol.com.

Salisbury High School's production of "Alice(s) in Wonderland" will be performed Nov. 13 through 16. Showtimes and ticket prices will be announced closer to the performance dates.
