Edward R. Kuczek, 91, of Emmaus, died Oct. 7, 2014, in his home. He was the husband of Emma M. (Scheetz) Repp Kuczek and the late Edith R. (Hoskins) Kuczek. Born in Amsterdam, N.Y., he was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Witek) Kuczek.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus and was a Third Degree member of the St. Ann's Council #12886, Knights of Columbus.
He was a graduate of Colgate University where he played on the baseball team and was a multiple time North American Speed Skating Champion. He was an accomplished baseball player and was signed by the New York Yankees.
He was employed by Sears Roebuck Co. for 38 years until retiring in 1985 as the merchandise manager at the Whitehall Store.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife; children, Michaelena and her husband Karl Miller, and Mark, Linda and Amy; grandchildren, Justin Oswald, Nicole Jordan, Matthew, and Christopher Oswald; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph and Bernard, Betty Trzaskos; stepchildren, Phyllis MacKay, Robert Repp and Linda Cruttenden.
