Lower Saucon Township Police arrested Javier Ortiz, 39, of Livingston Street in Bethlehem, following multiple alleged thefts from a Route 378 Radio Shack.

Officers responded to a report of a man throwing unusual objects into a public trash bins - where they found a gray hoodie, ball cap and empty mobile phone cases.

Police confirmed with a store employee a man of Ortiz' description and dress had been inside and acting strangely. They confronted Ortiz and he allegedly admitted to the theft of two phones. An investigation determined he also stole two Bluetooth devices two weeks earlier.

For the nearly $400 in stoolen items, combined with multiple previous convictions for theft, Ortiz is charged with receiving stolen property, retail theft and possession instruments of criume (box-cuttersto remove security tags.

He was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
