After 100 minutes of soccer, Parkland and Emmaus had to write off their rematch as a 0-0 draw. Parkland downed Emmaus 2-0 in the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season and was looking for the regular season sweep and more momentum heading into the final week of the regular season.

"I think Emmaus did a very good job of getting our girls to play their game and get us out of our game," said Parkland head coach Al Haddad. "I think the best 10 minutes was the first 10-minute overtime, because we were playing feed and when we play feed, we're a really good soccer team.

"When we start to play stuff all over the place and play the balls, it's just not as pretty and the only thing we train is possession soccer and playing the feed, so give them credit for getting us to get out of our game."

Becky Webster made five saves in goal for Parkland before being replaced by Regan Allsop after Webster collided with one of her own players in overtime.

Allsop wasn't challenged with any shots. Parkland managed just six shots on goal throughout the game, with goalie Jess Harnett turning away all six shots.

Parkland did have a shot bounce off the crossbar of the goal, but it went high in the air and wound up harmlessly behind the net. A few minutes later, another ball deflected off an Emmaus player and headed for the goal, but that ball also went off the crossbar and out of bounds.

Both defenses were able to cut their opponents opportunities short with strong defensive plays and both were called for various fouls throughout the game, much to the chagrin of both coaches. Both Haddad and Emmaus coach Rob Rooney were given yellow cards for arguing with officials.

Parkland bounced back with an impressive 3-0 win over Whitehall (13-3, 11-3) Monday night. Devyn Anderson, Rachel Medlar and Morgan Warminsky each scored goals in the win over the Lady Zephyrs.

The win put Parkland at 12-2-2 overall and 11-1-2 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, leaving the Trojans just ahead of Nazareth (12-2-2, 10-2-2) in the Skyline Division, with the two teams squaring off this week. Parkland also has another game against Whitehall coming up tonight at the Whitehall Sports Complex.

"I don't think we've peaked yet," said Haddad. "I don't think we've played an 80-minute game yet, which is good news for us, in that we have something to work towards.

"They work hard at practice, these girls give me a remarkable effort every day, but they're very young; we have five senior starters, but that leaves six freshmen and sophomores out there, so it's a young group.
