This week for the Freedom girls' soccer team did not start out the way they wanted it to.
After suffering another 4-1 loss to Easton where Kiera Pheiffer scored the only goal for Freedom, the Pates were now focused on playing Liberty.
The game started out slowly for the girls after giving up a goal in the first half. Pheiffer scored again for the Patriots but in the last minute of the game, Liberty scored to win 2-1.
After their disappointing loss to rival Liberty, the Patriots came out hard against Dieruff. The Pates scored eight goals in the first half including three by Jaiden Coyne and two by Giselle Sanchez to lead the Patriots to a victory.
Freedom only needed one more win to get into districts as they went on to face Bethlehem Catholic. The Pates had multiple contributors in their 4-0 win over the Hawks.
Now that the Patriots have clinched a playoff spot, they will focus on their last two games of the regular season.
The girls start out the week by playing William Allen and then their final game against cross town rival: Liberty.
