ALBURTIS COLUMN Borough to hold special meeting
The Alburtis Borough Council will hold a special meeting regarding resident mailboxes at borough hall 7 p.m. Oct. 15.
The Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society will hold an open house 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1. A meeting will be 11 a.m. The program, Paranormal Program will be held 7 p.m. All events are held at the former Lock Ridge Presbyterian Church. With trick or treat just around the corner, it's time for ghost stories, paranormal activity and all things that go bump in the night. Sarajane Williams, local author and president of the Lower Macungie Township Historical Society, will present a program 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 21 on her book entitled, "The Ghosts of Macungie and Surrounding Communities," a book which will appeal to local history buffs, as well as fans of ghost stories and ghost hunting. The AARP Lower Macungie Chapter # 4150 meets monthly noon the first Thursday of each month in the community room of the Lower Macungie Library Building, 3450 Brookside Road. The chapter has been active for over 25 years and almost half of about 170 members usually attend. Guests are welcomed. Come meet your neighbors or call 610-285-4563 for more information.
