The eighth annual Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest & Car Show will take place at the borough park, 701 Grove St., 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12.

The betterment committee is seeking volunteers to assist at Autumnfest.

Volunteer positions include wearing a Crayola Crayon mascot costume, inflating and distributing balloons, face painters, craft tent monitors, pumpkin decorating volunteers and bounce house volunteers. Shifts of from one to three hours are available.

This year's Autumnfest will feature a halupki-eating contest. The winner will receive $100. Enter the contest by completing an entry form, available by emailing NCataCentennial@aol. com.

Mark your calendar for the Catasauqua-North Catasauqua Halloween Parade. This year, it will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, with a rain date of Oct. 22.

Trick-or-Treat Night in North Catasauqua will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, with a rain date of Saturday, Nov. 1. Remember to turn on your porch light to welcome area children to your doorstep for treats.
