Gene M. Hoover, 90, of Allentown, died Sept. 23, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Charles W. Hoover for 69 years.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late James and Edith (Straup) Campbell.

She worked for Posh Construction, Bethlehem, for 15 years before retiring. Before that, she worked for Harned Oil Company, Allentown, as a secretary/bookkeeper for five years; and part-time for Mars Corporation in the marketing research division for 25 years.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Northampton.

She was a member of the sewing club of the Lehigh Valley.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sharon G. and her husband John Schlofer of Northampton, and Cynthia A. and her husband Gary Stoudt of Northampton; a son, Timothy C. and his wife Carol of Allentown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
