The Catasauqua Public Library has a new service to offer with e-books now available for download.

To borrow an e-book you will need to access the website at www.catasauquapl.org and a device such as a Kindle or Nook to download your e-book to. You can also use a smart phone or computer.

To get started, go to the website and click on the button which says "enjoy books" and follow the instructions.

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, would like to welcome the Rev. David P. Kidd, who has begun his work as interim pastor.

He will conduct his pastorate while helping to direct the congregation in the process of calling a new pastor for the parish.

Pastor Kidd is a retired Lutheran pastor. Before his retirement he served at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Allentown. A native of Easton, he is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, will be holding a chicken dinner and gospel show fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 4.

Dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m. with the "Quartet of 5" Southern Gospel and Oldies show beginning at 6:30 p.m. There is a cost.

Proceeds assist church sexton Norbert Huber, who had a stroke over the summer, and his family.
