The Kiwanis Club of Emmaus installed new officers and welcomed new members at its 62nd annual installation dinner held Sept. 24 at The Masters at Shepherd Hills banquet facility, along Krocks Road, in Lower Macungie Township.
Installed were officers for the Emmaus club's 2014-2015 service year: president, Richard Durant, of Emmaus; president-elect, Renee Wetherhold, of Emmaus; vice president, Ron Glassic, of Northampton; treasurer, Shelly Wright, of Emmaus and secretary, Elaine Ruch, of Lower Macungie. Installing the new officers was Phil Weber, of Emmaus, lieutenant governor of Division 18 of the statewide Kiwanis organization.
Kiwanis of Emmaus past president Doug Hohe, of Emmaus, was master of ceremonies for the installation dinner.
The Emmaus club also inducted three members of the Kiwanis of Parkland Club. The club was recently disbanded because of a lack of active members. By affiliating with the Emmaus group, the transferees will be able to sponsor the Parkland High School Key Club and other high school student activities sponsored by Kiwanis.
The members transferring to Emmaus are: Marj Steven, of Orefield; Nancy Dougherty, of Upper Macungie and Deb Homa, of Breinigsville.
