"Fire Prevention Week" will be observed with an outdoor exhibit, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Oct. 4, weather permitting, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown.

The event will feature area fire fighters in uniform, along with vintage and modern fire trucks. Sparky the Fire Dog will appear to promote fire safety while posing for family photos and autographs. Children can design and color their own fire hats and badges and make Sparky the Dog puppets.

Ron Smith, a 20-year veteran firefighter, of Hellertown, is guest curator.
